SEXY IDEA

20120104-170042.jpg

Sometimes there are places that simply don’t work for commercial activities, no matter what kind of shop you choose. This was the case of a shop at a bunch of meters from my mother’s house.

Since I can remember, in the spot there have been a dairy, a bar, a bakery, an ice cream parlour and a shop of fitness integrators. All of them closed after no more than a year. No exceptions.

Then, the smart idea came: a sexy shop. Not a conventional one – there’s still too much discretion and shame about sex around here – but an automatic distributor, where you just have to get in, insert your id card and choose your toy.

Maybe this activity will have success, who knows. Never underestimate the power of sex.

VACANZE MOVIMENTATE

LENNY KRAVITZ ROCKS ITALY

The sound of an electric guitar raised clear on the rapid beats of the drums. The  lights turned on, directed on a circle on the stage, while the images on the screens in the back started to slide quickly. Excitement was in the air and as impatience grew among the crowd, there he came to satisfy all of us. Lenny Kravitz entered the hall on the notes of Come On Get It, a song from his new album Black and White America.

We followed him, amazed by his personality. It didn’t matter if the opening group before him didn’t warm the atmosphere before his appearance. It didn’t matter if more than half of the crowd was over forty. It didn’t matter if he’s not as tall as he seems on TV. His involving voice was leading the scene perfectly.

Sunglasses, black pants, boots, wool hat and an explosion of energy: he rocked us all and in a few minutes the whole room of the Assago Forum was singing and dancing in the dark.

He started American Woman, then Mr Cab Driver, She’s Got Attitude, California in a balanced mix of old and new. Sometimes he took a pause between one song and the other, and gave us the attention we were dreaming of.

AMERICAN BRUNCH IN MILAN

A cup of hot filter coffee is hard to find in Italy

Remember the review on the American bar in Florence? I discovered another great place for Usa lovers like me, this time in Milan. It’s called American Donuts, and the name should tell you something already.

I went in this food paradise last Sunday at around 12 with some friends, very hungry because we had no breakfast that morning. Of course, we wanted to be sure to taste the best of the place.

The temptation to eat all the desserts in the expositors became unresistable as we got in.
